5 Ways To Promote Your Business Digitally

Websites

The first and most obvious way to promote your business digitally is a website.  Websites are no longer an option in todays digital world.  If you own a business you need to be on the web.  Look at your website as a 24 hr worldwide sales manager.  Your website can be accessed from anywhere in the world at anytime.  It is often a potential clients first introduction to your business, make sure the first impression is a good one. You wouldn’t hire a mediocre sales person who dresses poorly for such an important task.  Make sure your design and content are both relevant and attractive.  Most people don’t stay on a website for more than 4 seconds, we’ll call this the “4 second rule”.  Give people who are interested in your business a reason to stay on your website.  If your website doesn’t have that “WOW” factor contact us today, we can help.

Mobile Apps or Responsive Websites

Mobile phones and tablets now give users access to the web wherever they are.  Get in a debate and Google is surely asked to be the mediator.  You can also search for nearby businesses or services and if your website viewership matches the averages, close to 40% of your traffic is viewed on a handheld device.  That number is expected to grow exponentially in the next few years with more and more people having both internet access and smart phones.  Regular websites optimized for a desktop or laptop computer are hard to read and many times passed over on these devices.  Remember the “4 second rule”, it definitely comes in to play here.  If you don’t have a device responsive site you’re going to lose potential customers to a competitor that does.

Social Networks

Social networks literally have billions of users, or if you’re a business owner, an infinite number of potential customers.  The best part about these networks is that most of them are free for businesses.  It is a great place to build a repoire, and create a personality for your business.  You can update customers about specials, introduce them to new products, and even share kitten pictures.   It is important to remember that the look of your social network pages is important.  Make sure everything is branded and has a good look and feel.  Need help developing your brand?  Call us, we’d love to help.

Blogging

Nobody knows your business like you do and you need to tell the world about it.  It is a simple fact that companies that blog have better search engine optimization (SEO), get more website visits, and create more leads than those than don’t.  So if you don’t have time you might want to make some, if not you’re doing your business a huge disservice.  Blogging gives you a way to inform your visitors about your business & industry, shows search engines that you’re adding new content (they love new content) and promote specials and deals.  If you’d like to see an example of how blogging is done correctly, check out Unusual Designs blog.  Their readership spikes on days they post a new blog.  If you’d like to add a blog to your website contact us.

Email Marketing

Ever heard of Mail Chimp or Constant Contact?  If not you should research them both.  They give you a way to send emails announcing things about your business and create click throughs to your website.  They also give the power to design the  look of the email so it carries your brand with it. Have a special? Email your contact list and let them know.  You just posted a blog? Share that with your email list.  If you need help starting your email campaign, contact Hope Road Design.
